The first InterAmus prototype is shown at the SISU show-case at the Sixteenth International Joint Conference of Artificial Intelligence (IJCAI) in Stockholm, Sweden, between 31 July and 6 August, 1999.
A TV-spot is recorded for the Danish Broadcasting Company. This first prototype was a simple rule-based system and not constructed according to the principle of music morphing.

The InterAmus project is initiated at the Swedish Institute for System Development, SISU. SISU later fused with IMT under the name of Framkom and dissolved in 2002.
